In 1986 Alamo appointed us as GSA and we are proud to say that we have been able to increase their reservation volume by more than 60,000 rental weeks annually. Our call center handled on behalf of Alamo more than 1,000 incoming calls per day and for a number of years we have been responsible for the tour operator billing as well as all customer relation services. We have set the ground for Alamo’s own operation and car rental services inbound Germany. Alamo now operates an own, independent car rental service within Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
In the mid 80s, Lee County was almost unknown in the German-Speaking markets and had no presence in German tour operators’ brochures. It virtually was a blank spot on the map of the German travel trade. Through our sales & marketing work, Lee County and the West Coast of Florida became one of the prime destinations for the German-speaking travelers as well as for private home owners. With German airline LTU agreements of weekly flights to Fort Myers could be negotiated. In the beginning of our contract the Lee Island Coast counted less than 10,000 German visitors. After seven years approximately 140,000 German, Austrian and Swiss tourists visited the destination and LTU started weekly back-to-back flights.

In 2003 the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism decided to close its 30-year operating office based in Frankfurt, Germany. After a successful bidding process Herzog HC streamlined the operation (costs were reduced by 50%) and was able to stop the continuous decrease of German visitor numbers to the Bahamas by reaching an increase of 13-15 per cent in the markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. After more than 20 years, in November 2009, we realized a direct, year-round flight to the Bahamas.
